Introduction to Western Calligraphy

from SGD 180.00

Workshop Overview:

Embark on a journey of mindfulness and slowing down as we explore the enchanting world of Western Calligraphy. This workshop is designed for those with no experience with a flexible pointed pen nib and who are eager to have a hand in calligraphy.

This workshop will focus on the foundational aspects of pen handling and proper writing posture before moving on to pen manipulation to write traditional basic strokes and explore ways to tweak them to create modern strokes.

At the end of the class, you will have a library of stroke variations to create your own calligraphy style! You will also receive a copy of my demonstration notes for your practice back home.

Date and Time:

11 August, Sunday, 11am to 1.30pm

Location:

Central (TBC exact location)

Materials Provided:

  • pointed pen and nib

  • ink

  • guidelines

  • demonstration notes (after the class)

Note:

This workshop is very suited for beginners and we focus on developing slowness as we write every stroke with intent and/or playfulness. Let’s embrace the journey of empowerment rather than perfection in this short time together.

If you would like personal feedback for a week on your writing after the class, you may choose to add on the option of ‘with personal feedback’.
